Terms of service

These terms cover the Kwota Golf app and this website. Using either means you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use Kwota.

What Kwota is

Kwota is a record-keeping tool for the games golfers already run at their own course: sign-ups, scoring, and the arithmetic of skins and payouts. It is a scorekeeper and a calculator. It is not a gambling operator, a payment processor, an escrow service or a bookmaker.

Kwota handles no money

There are no payments in Kwota, in either direction. Entry fees and winnings are collected and paid out by your course, between the people playing, exactly as they were before the app existed. Kwota calculates what the results imply and shows it to you. It never holds, transfers or guarantees a cent, and it is not a party to any arrangement between you and your course or the other players.

Your responsibility for the games you play

Rules about wagering between individuals differ by state and by country, and by the rules of your own club. You and your course are responsible for making sure the game you run is lawful and permitted where you play it, and for settling up honestly. You must be of legal age to participate in your jurisdiction. Kwota does not review, host or endorse any particular game.

Your account

Give accurate information, and keep your sign-in details to yourself.

You are responsible for what happens under your account.

One account per person. Do not sign up under someone else’s name.

Tell us if you think your account has been used without your permission.

Courses and admins

Each course has one or more admins — usually the person who already runs the weekend game. Admins set the games and their terms, manage the roster and handicaps, and finalize results. They are not employees or agents of Kwota, and Kwota is not responsible for their decisions. Joining a course means an admin can see your name, contact details and playing record at that course.

Scores, handicaps and results

Kwota calculates handicaps, skins and payouts from the scores that are entered. Those calculations follow the rules the app documents, but they are only as good as the scores — we do not warrant that any result, handicap or payout figure is correct. A posted result is your course’s record, and disputes about a score or a settlement are between you, the other players and your admin. Admins can correct a round before it is finalized; a finalized result can be discarded and redone by an admin, but not silently edited.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Enter scores you know to be false, or tamper with another player’s record.

Try to reach data for a course you do not belong to.

Probe, scrape, overload or reverse-engineer the service.

Use Kwota to harass anyone, or for anything unlawful.

We may suspend or close an account that does these things, and a course admin may remove a player from their course.

Availability

Kwota is provided as-is and as-available. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features. During early access in particular, expect that things will move.

Our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Kwota and its operators are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost data, or for any money lost, unpaid or disputed in connection with a game — including where a calculation, a score or the service itself was wrong or unavailable. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Your content

Scores, names, course photos and anything else you enter stay yours. You give us permission to store and display them as needed to run the service — for example, showing your score to the rest of your course’s field.

Ending it

You may stop using Kwota and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may close an account that breaks these terms. Results already frozen into a course’s record remain part of that record.

Changes

If we change these terms we will update the date above and, for anything significant, tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Kwota after that means you accept the new version.
